Hello everyone! We are halfway through the summer and the library staff has been hard at work. In June we conducted our full inventory and continued to meet with instructors to help them with the resources for their courses. With the start of a new fiscal year we have been able to order over 250 books as well as 16 new films for our collections. We've been updating our website, continuing to meet with instructors, making IDs, planning programs for the upcoming year (like our Booked for Lunch book club) as well as some special events (Library Out Loud events) and much, much more!
We are currently without a photocopier at the moment as the college is replacing all of the copiers on campus with new machines that are reported to have color copying options. (I am particularly excited about that feature since scanning sometimes warps the color, and getting sizing right when you are trying to replace a DVD cover is tricky.)
Of course, we continue to check out books and dvds, help students with their assignments, issue parking stickers, give directions and answer questions of all kinds. We are also always looking for ways to improve or new services to offer so if you have an idea or a suggestion we welcome it with open arms! (Keep in mind that we can't put a coffee shop into the library. Sorry.)
Stop by and see us this summer! Despite our activity the library is still very quiet (although sometimes the staff does get a bit boisterous) and we would love to see you!
