Holiday Wrap Up

Greetings everyone! The library will be closing for the holidays at noon on December 20th.  We will reopen on January 2nd.  We wish everyone a very happy holiday and hope that the new year brings health, happiness and prosperity to you all.

Hopefully in 2018 this blog will feature more regular postings. In the meantime, just remember that we have great books to checkout for the holidays in the event that you need to escape while staying where you are.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

The Jim and Patsy Rose Library is decking our halls for the holidays, but we want to remind you that we are open our regular hours through the last day of classes on December 18th.  We are here to help you!

Our Wednesday Hours

The library will be closing at 4 pm this Wednesday, November 22nd. We apologize for any inconvenience but are thrilled to have the extra time to spend with our families and prepare for the holiday.

Stranger Things

If you're a fan of the hit show Stranger Things and are looking for something to tide you over after you binged on Season 2 why not check out some of the films that the Duffer Brothers have used as inspiration for the the show?  We have E.T., Stand By Me, Alien, Aliens, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Star Wars, Akira, and The Thing. 

More than just books

Tomorrow is the first of November which means this semester is rapidly disappearing.  Final exams, projects, presentations and papers dates are looming on the horizon for many of you.  We would like to take this time to remind you that the library has more to offer you than just books.  We have study rooms where you can work with classmates on projects, computers, a color printer, a scanner, databases, videos (digital and hard copy) and paid professionals who can help you with your research and works cited pages.

We have the tools available for you to use to produce better quality work which will lead to better grades.  Obviously we cannot make you use what we provide, but it would be foolish not to take advantage of everything that is provided to you free of charge.  We know we will see more of our students stopping by in the coming weeks; we hope that you will be one of them.

Reminder! Library Out Loud!

Reminder that our next Library Out Loud is this coming Monday, October 9th! The time is 1:00 pm, not 1:30 as was previously posted. Come join us for some snacks and great tips on improving your assignments with images.

On October 9th we will be hosting our next Library Out Loud! This time we will be focusing on how to find and cite images for presentations. Come join us at 1:30 in the Rotary Center for Global Studies!
